I love this new UK Nokia advert, it picks up on the current trend for illustration and hand-drawn design becoming fashionable in technology. The advert starts with the Nokia 6220 sitting on a blank canvas but then quickly people flock around the phone and start drawing their maps outwards from the handset. The concept is that with maps in your pocket (in the new phone), everyone can find each other, anytime. I am currently undertaking another re-design of cameronqueen.com, now that I’m enjoying getting back into designing and having a project to work on. This time it’s back to basics for me and I’m trying to work slowly and methodically from the ground up with fully valid CSS and Markup html. I’m actually finding the learning curve to be a lot of fun and I’m starting to wonder how I survived without CSS. This beautiful chalet has been designed by AFGH Architects of Switzerland and it is situated near Scheidegg. The designers have carefully folded all the services and much of the structural clutter away into the concrete basement and foundations which latch this block onto the sloping alpine terrain. By doing this they’ve allowed a beautiful, clean form to be placed onto the hillside on a site which originally supported a run down alpine hut. …read more

Freshome have put up a nice article on creative bookshelves today, 30 in total. I really like articles like this which bring together collections of designs. Obviously everybody’s taste is different and, personally, I think there are a good few naff ones in here but.. out of thirty these 2 are hot stuff. Alegedly the largest glass cylinder in the world - this huge aquarium dominates the lobby of the 5-star SAS Radisson Hotel, Berlin.
